| YOGA as an after school activity (children
between 4 – 11 years old) |
| Children naturally imitate things they see around them. Once
they see an object or an animal they love copying it –
by making their bodies in the shape of that object or creature.
|
| Practising yoga builds a strong foundation for children to
grow confident, clear-thinking and healthy. It develops attentiveness
and concentration and promotes harmony between body and mind.
|
| Yoga poses work on strength, co-ordination, balance and flexibility.
Even the shyest of children can free their imagination through
yoga and feel aware of what is happening inside and outside
the body. Poses are safe and fun, children are encouraged not
to compare themselves to others, as yoga is non-competitive.
